Table of Contents

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of Skillix, a mobile productivity game developed and operated by Skillix (“we”, “us”, “our”), a sole proprietorship registered in the Netherlands (CoC number: 91335175). By downloading, using and/or making any purchase in Skillix, you agree to these Terms.

For information about how we collect and use personal data, see our Privacy Statement.

1. Who Can Use Skillix

Skillix is available to players aged 16 or above. If you are a child under 16 years of age, please do not use Skillix nor send us any personal data. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16. If we become aware of a situation where such data has been collected, we will promptly delete it. If you know of a case where personal data of a child under 16 has been collected by us, kindly contact us at privacy@skillixapp.com.

2. Your Account

You can play Skillix without an account. However, an account is required to make purchases in the app (Skillcoin packs or a subscription).

If you create an account, be aware that:

  • You are responsible for keeping your login details secure.
  • You must provide accurate information when registering.
  • You can request us to delete your account at any time as described in our Privacy Statement (in-app, you can go to Settings → Account → Delete account).
  • We may suspend or terminate your account if it violates these Terms.

3. Skillix is Free to Play

All core game features are available for free. Optional purchases are limited to an in-game currency and the subscription described below.

4. Skillcoins and Purchases

4.1 Skillcoins

Skillcoins are the in-game currency of Skillix. They can only be used to purchase cosmetic items within Skillix. They have no real-world monetary value, cannot be transferred between players, cannot be exchanged for real money, and cannot be used outside of the game.

Skillcoins can be:

  • Earned by maintaining a long-term daily streak.
  • Earned through achievements;
  • Purchased as Skillcoin packs through your device’s app store (Apple App Store or Google Play), and
  • Collected as part of a monthly subscription.
4.2 What Skillcoins Can Buy

Skillcoins are used primarily for cosmetic items that change the look of your character or settlement. Cosmetics provide no gameplay advantage. Skillcoins can also be used to purchase daily streak freezes, but they cannot be used to directly benefit your progress in Skillix (no ‘pay-to-win’).

4.3 Skillcoin Packs

Skillcoin packs are purchased through the Apple App Store or Google Play. Prices are displayed at the time of purchase and are inclusive of any applicable taxes. By completing a purchase, you confirm your agreement to that transaction.

4.4 Subscription

Skillix offers an optional subscription that:

  • Removes all ads for the duration of your active subscription;
  • Awards a number of Skillcoins each month;
  • Awards a number of daily streak freezes each month.

 

The subscription is billed on a recurring basis (monthly or annually, as selected). It can be cancelled at any time through your app store account settings. Cancelling stops future renewals; your subscription benefits remain active until the end of the paid period.

4.5 Suspension or Termination

If we suspend or terminate your account, the effect on your Skillcoins depends on the reason.

Skillcoins you earned through gameplay (for example through streaks or achievements) have no monetary value and may be lost on suspension or termination.

Skillcoins you purchased with real money, and cosmetics or other items you bought with purchased Skillcoins, are treated differently. If we end your access for a reason that is not the result of your serious or repeated breach of these Terms, for example because we discontinue the app or restructure the service, we will refund or credit the unused value of your purchased Skillcoins on a reasonable, pro-rata basis. If we suspend or terminate your account because of your serious or repeated breach of these Terms, we may withhold access to your unspent Skillcoins; however, we will not deprive you of the value of purchased Skillcoins to any greater extent than is permitted under applicable mandatory consumer law, and where that law requires it, we will refund the unused balance.

Nothing in this section limits your statutory rights as a consumer.

5. Refunds

5.1 General

All purchases in Skillix are made through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Whether and how a refund can be obtained depends on which platform was used. Note: if you made a purchase that was not processed properly (you did not receive what you purchased), please always contact us at support@skillixapp.com so we can help.

5.2 Right of Withdrawal

Under EU consumer law you normally have 14 days to withdraw from a distance contract without giving a reason. Different rules apply depending on what you purchase.

Skillcoin packs are digital content delivered immediately upon purchase. By completing a Skillcoin purchase you expressly request immediate delivery and acknowledge that your 14-day right of withdrawal lapses once the Skillcoins are credited to your account.

Subscriptions: each billing period begins with the immediate delivery of that period’s Skillcoin and streak freeze rewards. These are digital content: by subscribing you expressly request their immediate delivery and acknowledge that your right of withdrawal lapses on delivery of those rewards. The ad-free experience is an ongoing service to which the 14-day withdrawal right applies; however, after excluding the non-refundable rewards, the pro-rata value of the remaining service component is minimal. Any such refund would be processed by your app store rather than by us directly (see section 5.3).

Cancelling a subscription stops future billing without entitling you to a refund for the remainder of a paid period.

5.3 Platform Refund Policies

Apple and Google each operate independent refund policies that we have no control over and that may be more generous than these Terms require. On iOS, refund requests can be submitted at reportaproblem.apple.com. On Android, Google automatically processes refund requests made within 48 hours of purchase. For Android purchases outside that window, please contact us at support@skillixapp.com; we will assess requests on a case-by-case basis in line with section 5.2 and applicable law. Platform refund decisions do not alter the rights and obligations set out in section 5.2.

6. Ads

The free version of Skillix displays ads. We commit to the following:

  • Ads are not intrusive or manipulative.
  • We do not allow third-party tracking for personalized advertising within the app.
  • The subscription removes all ads.

7. Acceptable Use

When using Skillix, you must not:

  • Attempt to hack, reverse-engineer, exploit, or disrupt the game or its servers, including by overloading or attempting to interfere with their availability.
  • Use automated tools, bots, or scripts to manipulate gameplay or missions.
  • Attempt to buy, sell, or trade your account or Skillcoins outside of the game.
  • Interfere with other players’ use of the game.
  • Use the game for any unlawful purpose.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access for anyone who violates these rules.

8. Our Content and Intellectual Property

All content in Skillix, including the name, logo, art, characters, music, game mechanics, and text, is owned by Skillix. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or exploit any part of the game without our prior written permission. We grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable licence to play Skillix for personal, non-commercial use, in accordance with these Terms.

9. App Store Terms

Skillix is licensed to you and downloaded and used through the Apple App Store or Google Play. Your use is also governed by that store’s own terms and usage rules, Apple’s standard Licensed Application EULA or the Google Play terms, which apply in addition to these Terms in relation to the app licence. Where those store rules are more restrictive, they prevail to that extent.

These Terms are between you and Skillix only. Skillix alone is responsible for the app, its content and any maintenance and support. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.

10. Availability and Changes

We aim to keep Skillix available at all times, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted access. We may:

  • Update the game, including adding or removing features.
  • Change the price or contents of Skillcoin packs and subscription tiers, with advance notice where possible.
  • Temporarily take the game offline for maintenance.

In the event that Skillix is discontinued entirely, we will give reasonable advance notice, especially to provide information about any unused paid Skillcoins at that time.

11. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

Skillix is provided “as is”. To the extent permitted by law:

  • We do not guarantee that the game will be free of bugs or errors.
  • We are not liable for any loss of in-game progress, including items, Skillcoins and building and character levels. However, if a technical issue causes inadvertent loss of in-app items that represent a real monetary value (for example bought Skillcoins or items purchased with bought Skillcoins), please contact us at support@skillixapp.com and we will investigate the situation and reimburse you appropriately.
  • Our total liability to you for any single claim will not exceed the greater of (a) the total amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) €100. This cap does not apply to: (i) damage caused by our intentional misconduct or gross negligence; or (ii) your right to compensation for a breach of data-protection law, including under Article 82 GDPR or any equivalent applicable privacy law.

Nothing in these Terms limits any statutory rights you have as a consumer under applicable law. If you use Skillix outside the Netherlands, the mandatory consumer protection and privacy laws of your country of residence may give you rights in addition to those described here.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We distinguish between material changes and minor changes.

Material changes are changes to pricing, subscription terms or your rights and obligations. When we make a material change we will: (i) give you at least 30 days’ advance notice by in-app message and, if you have an account, by email; (ii) provide a plain-language summary of what has changed and why; and (iii) require you to actively confirm acceptance in the app before the change applies to you. If you do not accept a material change, you may continue to use Skillix under the existing Terms until the end of any prepaid period. You also have the right to close your account before the change takes effect; if you have a prepaid subscription we will refund the unused portion on a pro-rata basis.

Minor changes, such as corrections, clarifications, or editorial updates that do not affect your rights, will be notified in the app. Continued use after the update constitutes acceptance of those minor changes. The updated Terms will always state the new effective date.

13. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands. If you are a consumer habitually resident in another EU or EEA Member State, the mandatory consumer protection rules of your country of residence also apply to you, and this choice of Dutch law does not deprive you of those protections (Rome I Regulation, Article 6). If you have a dispute with us that we cannot resolve informally, you may refer the matter to the competent courts of the Netherlands. You may also seek alternative dispute resolution through the ‘Dutch Foundation for Complaints and Dispute Resolution’ (Stichting Geschillencommissie).
