Skillix is a mobile game where your real-world activities power your in-game journey. Level up your character and create a thriving settlement in a post-apocalyptic world through productive and healthy habits.
The app is still in development, but we’re looking to launch in a few months and we’d love to build an early community! Please consider joining the mail list and/or our Discord server and subreddit (links on the right).
If you subscribe, we will process your personal data according to our privacy statement.
Pick the habits you want to build, like walking, running, cycling, cooking, studying, cleaning, etc. These become your in-game “skills”.
When you start a real-life activity, you also begin a Mission. The more time you spend on the Mission (and thus your activity), the more resources and experience you’ll get.
Use your scavenged resources for your settlement: Food to keep your survivors fed and happy, and Parts to build and upgrade buildings. Do this consistently and you will attract new survivors.
Completed missions grant EXP in: the trained skill, related Attributes, and your overall character level. Level up to unlock new buildings and customization items.

Coming soon!
You level up by completing Missions that involve spending time on real-life tasks ("skills") such as running, studying or housekeeping. The more time spent on the Mission, the more experience points (EXP) you will earn.
EXP will go towards your skill level, but also towards attribute levels, as well as your overall character level. There are five attributes: Strength, Endurance, Discipline, Intellect and Creativity. Each skill is connected to one or two attributes. For example, Walking is connected to Endurance and Cooking is connected to Discipline. Higher levels will be needed to unlock new buildings and building upgrades in your settlement.
Completing Missions earns you Food and Parts. Food is needed to keep your survivors fed. If your Food stores are low, the settlement Happiness level will drop, until eventually survivors will start leaving the settlement. High happiness will ensure new survivors join the settlement over time. Parts are used to build new buildings or upgrade existing ones in order to provide certain bonuses, such as a higher max population, a higher Food or Parts capacity, or a boost to earning Food and Parts during Missions.
Missions come in three levels: Novice, Advanced, and Expert. Higher difficulty levels require more time to be spent on a skill before earning one, two or three stars. Mission stars act like checkpoints, where each star achieved guarantees a certain amount of resources (Food and Parts) to be collected. On Novice, you may get stars at respectively 10, 20 and 30 minutes spent, whereas on Expert level, you may need 90, 120 and 150 minutes. Naturally, you'll collect more resources at this level, plus you can complete Missions in segments, so you don't have to spend those 90 minutes on a skill all at once (as long as you do it within the same day).
Skillix will always be free to play, with all the core functionality available. If you wish to get more out the experience, you can use in-game currency, Skillcoins, to get special character customization items. Skillcoins can be either purchased, earned by maintaining a daily streak for a long time, or collected by watching video ads (entirely optional).
Yes, just like in other productivity apps or fitness tracking apps, it's possible to cheat. Mainly by letting a Mission run without actually performing the skill. If you wish to use Skillix this way, for example if you are more interested in the game aspect, that's not a problem and it is entirely up to you. However, if you wish to use Skillix to become more productive, happier and healthier, then you'll only be cheating yourself.
A first beta version of the app should be available around June/July 2025 for backers of our Kickstarter, which will launch around the same time. Once we have conducted sufficient testing, the app will become publicly available, likely around August/September 2025!
